I love flowers and taking pictures of flowers, so I really hope that you don't get bored of all my flower pictures! The plum blossom (
Prunus mume) seasons is basically over, and the cherry blossom season is just starting up, so there are going to be many more pictures to come. This past wednesday, I went on an adventure with Kyli to Makuyama Park in Yugawara. The park was formed by the Hakone volcano and has many trees, flowers, hiking trails, mountainous hills, and a river flowing through it. During the plum blossom season, over 4,000 planted trees are in bloom! After wandering around the park for a while, Kyli and I somehow ended up hiking a trail with a bunch of other people. And when I mean people, I mean elderly Japanese who are in super great shape and can hike up a mountain like nothing! It was a pretty decent hike, and I at least felt like a weakling compared to all these elderly people! The higher up the mountain we got, the friendlier the people were. Everytime we past by someone or a group of people, we always got a Konnichiwa or.. something we couldn't understand.
Here are pictures!
In this picture, you can see a small overview of the park. Kyli and I ended up climbing to the top of the mountain/hill in this picture. The white and pink blotches along the hillside are the plum blossom trees in fuuuuulll bloom!
This tree was filled with slightly pink and half pink/half white flowers! Cross-pollination perhaps??
I tried playing with these new macro filters that I got. I'm still figuring out how to get the best shots and depth of field, but look at these beautiful stamen!
The park was a popular spot for many rock climbers.
The view was beautiful at the top of the mountain/hill. We could see the ocean, and well, that was the best part.
Proof that I made it to the top.
